MO’s Block PartyFreaking fun!!! Great, great music from soul summit and Saint James Joy. The street is pretty small and narrow, and they had lots of vendor tents so it got super cramped super fast so i left around 6. But i saw lots of friends!
The people at Le Bain were some of the RUDEST I had ever encountered. Probably the most I've been hit on at the club too. If I didn't have friends with me, I'd definitely feel unsafe. No free water, sticky-ass carpeted floor, and crowded af. People are dressed more upscale/classy. One extra star for a beautiful gigantic disco ball and a nice breezy rooftop. Minus star for that health hazard swimming pool that occupies premium dance floor real estate.
I reallllly love this place, but there are some major downfalls. The music is always ON FUCKING POINT! Incredible DJ’s, and the founder Paul Nickerson himself is an absolute unique legend. The property is gorgeous, the swimming hole magical, the paper lantern lights STUNNING colors you don’t see anywhere. My biggest pet peeve is there’s no free water. Paul, please just charge more for admission or whatever you need to do to provide free water for your dancers! It’s a health hazard! The last festival RAN OUT of water sat night at 2am, DJ’s going till 5am. Absolutely unacceptable and dangerous. Thankfully I live nearby so I drove home and filled up all my water bottles to bring back but WTF. Furthermore, they don’t let you bring outside food in, and all that’s provided is a horrible taco truck. I can’t tell you how many people complained to me about how awful the food was. Guys! Please feed your dancers nourishing delicious food, to give them energy to DANCE 🙏🏼 Last pet peeve: the music is too loud in the indoor space. Damaging loud. It still hurts when I have earplugs in. Again, I love this venue and I’m so grateful it’s so close to my house but these are some major and very fixable downsides that would take it up to the next level if they’re addressed. ♥️

Fuckin BANGIN!!! Cassy played 3 hours of deeeep techno tracks, all vinyl. Didn’t recognize a single track, had me hootin and hollering the whole time!!! One of my fav DJ sets this year. Had me moving like crazy even after a whole weekend of dance and 4 hours of sleep
This. Freaking. Party, oh my gaaad. Rhadoo banged out one of my favorite sets I’ve ever HEARD. 2 am - 9 am, and somehow still not long enough. Super layered, deep techno, sometimes minimal and sometimes very not minimal. Real interesting sounds

Dance is LifeHonestly one of the best events I’ve ever been ! Everyone was dancing with each other , doesn’t matter your style, age or character ! The location in Central Park made it even more magical and being a free event really helps to survive the prices of NYC ! Recommended 1000%

I looove partying at Xanadu. Super big space, powerful air conditioning, beautiful smooth clean floors, and the loudest speakers I’ve ever heard. Free water, nice roofed smoking area, and additional bathrooms in the back!
Got super packed in green room, that crowd talks a lot :/ but when it got too crowded, it was nice to visit the outside stage and hear the other sets! Very sad Lady Monix couldn’t make it </3 didn’t stay to hear Mike Servito, too tired after SanDia

Ladies of Hip Hop: 1v1 HOUSE BATTLEEvent was so freaking long.... prelims started at 3, ended at 10. As a competitor, very hard to keep the energy up. Very taxing. By the time I was called up I had forgotten how to dance. Also did NOT like the house music used for battle. The first song was a Frank Ocean song??

Soul Summit Music FestivalIt’s always a great time dancing with different generations who have been in the scene for a long time. Would like for the people who play live instruments to listen more to the music the DJ’s are playing

Tee Em Dee opened with Soulful house, then Lovie continued and bring up disco and techno. Stacey Hotwaxx moved everyone to dance. Have outdoor food vender. But the security sucks, they kicked off people from the stage without mentioning anything. Dance floor is small and sticky, dancers need more baby powder.

The Ritual (Louie Vega / Anane)Indoor room got super packed, I was dancing in the halls! Good mixed crowd, but it didn’t feel right to be in that dark room while it was so beautiful outside. They moved the atrium speakers inside, sounded soooo good in there. Absolutely lost in the subwoofer. Opening set was really good, idk his name

Masters at Work (Louie Vega / Kenny Dope)Overall had a great time at this party, some really good music and fun exchanges. Because of the size, was a little harder to find/dance w everyone, and I think I like a contained warehouse or smaller open space in general (this one felt a little too big/open). Was good to have enough space to dance though, and I liked how easy it was to grab water/find bathrooms when needed. Also they offer free shuttles to Jefferson L stop and Manhattan, which is a nice touch.
Came early (11ish) but lots of security lines, lots of bathrooms (clean w stall attendants passing out paper towels and selling gum/etc). Lots of bartenders/no wait to buy water, and enough space to dance. Only thing was this was outside/on asphalt, so not as comfy to dance on for hours, and esp in the later hours more wasted men trying to hit on me, so glad to have my guy friend bouncers around.
I liked the music overall, at a few points leaned more techno remixy away from the soul/instrumental elements I love about some of the original mixes, but still had an amazing time!
FUN PARTY in a super-DIY space. Might be the coolest looking venue I know, neon lights and painted signs. Lighting and sound in there is beautiful. Geology’s set was very funk, only played a handful of deep/house tracks. Venue got so… so hot and humid. Like, dangerous, health liability hot. Should def provide free water next time
Mixing was great (all vinyl) but leaned more funk and sisco for my tastes. Still an incredible set!! Had me dancing despite the heat
Moment in TimeExcellent event Tori!!! Around 24 participants, which was perfect space-wise. Cyphers had great energy and some visitors out of town! Music was absolutely bangin, flow state ACHIEVED. Great exposure therapy for my fear of cyphers. Also I won :) + Norry and Felipe

Behind the Groove 2v2Event was a bit empty, top 8 selection was noncompetitive. Format was good, judging was good. Empanadas and snacks were GREAT. Wish the warm up music was house.

Great line up, great music!! Too packed to experience the full line up. The upstairs room had a line all through the night. Atrium barely had room to dance.

Lots of older hardcore club heads from the PACHA days. Muscle hunks and hunkettes gogo dancing on the stage and speakers. Great night
